Waste and recycling collections following the early May bank holiday

Waste and recycling collections will be a day later than usual after the bank holiday on Monday, 6 May.

Catch up collections will run from Tuesday, 7 May through to Saturday, 11 May. Normal collections begin again on Monday, 13 May.  Anyone who is unsure of their collection day can find out by visiting:

Residents can find alternative ways to repair, reuse, recycle or dispose of household items and information on household recycling centres online at Gloucestershire Recycles| Waste Wizard.

Over the bank holiday weekend, residents are likely to accumulate more waste than usual, and the council is asking everyone to recycle as much of this waste as they possibly can.

Richard Trout, Head of Service for Waste and Recycling at Tewkesbury Borough Council, said: “During the holiday weekend, many people will be getting together with friends and family, whether this be a family meal or a visit to take advantage of the three-day break.

“This is likely to generate more waste than usual, so please remember to recycle as much as possible. And please don’t forget to place any leftover food in your food caddy for recycling.”
