Please see below message from National Highways regarding M5 junction 7 to junction 8 drainage work:
I’m writing to inform you of some upcoming essential maintenance work on the M5. As part of our work, we’ll be carrying out cleansing and renewal of the drains which will include low level repairs as required. We’ll work overnight, between 8pm and 6am, Monday to Friday, from Monday 2 October to Friday 24 November 2023.
To carry out our work safely, there will be closures of the hard shoulder, lane one and lane two, which will move along the road as works progress.
During our programme of work, we’ll make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum. We always aim to work to programme, however unforeseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes.
Please plan ahead and allow additional time for your journey.
