Tewkesbury Borough Council are monitoring the situation with regard to flooding in the Borough at the moment. Currently the major rivers (Severn & Avon) are within normal levels. There is some localised flooding of roads and tributaries.
There is a limited supply of sandbags and any vulnerable individuals requiring them should contact the Borough Council. Anyone else requiring sandbags should either purchase them from builders merchants or use other means, such as black bags filled with soil.
Gloucestershire County Council Highways Department are monitoring the situation on the roads. The Fire Service, Police and the Environment Agency are also monitoring the situation. Current is to try and avoid flood waters wherever possible.
The good news is that the rain is forecast to stop early / mid-afternoon and the situation should improve quickly although there may still be some run off from fields / mountains locally so the advice to take care will remain.
