Tewkesbury North Ward.
Born in Tewkesbury, I grew up on Priors Park. Except for 10 years Army service with The Gloucestershire Regiment, I have lived in Tewkesbury all of my life.
Service to the community has always been high on my list, which is why, on leaving the Army; I joined the Police Service, serving a total of 43 years, first with Gloucestershire Police and later with West Mercia Police. For 18 of those years I was stationed in Tewkesbury and held several roles including that of Community Constable for Tewkesbury Town Centre.
During my service with the police I acted as a health and safety representative, and, until my retirement, was a Technician Member of the Institute of Safety and Health (IOSH).
I have always had a focus on the young people of the town, and, for just over 40 years, worked with local Cadet Force units assisting many young people to become better citizens and achieve their aims in civilian and armed forces careers. I also formed a youth marching band in the town during the 1980’s.
Being a former soldier, I continue to support ex-services associations and have organised several events locally.
I am both proud, and honoured, to be afforded the opportunity of further serving the community though Tewkesbury Town Council.
