I came to Tewkesbury from my home town in Bedfordshire in 1975. I have 5 children and 5 grandchildren. In my years living in Tewkesbury I have been involved in Priors Park Playgroup, a volunteer at Queen Margaret’s School, later becoming a Governor then Chair of Governors. I was also a Governor at Chance Street School and part of the setting up of the Early Years Centres.
Also, a helper at Brownies, Supporter and Committee member for Saxon Shadows one of the local Youth Marching Bands and Committee member for The Big Weekend.
I owned and ran my own small cleaning company for some 30 years, providing cleaning service for the small business. I was District Organiser for WRVS for 10 years until it’s reorganisation in 1999.
I still serve what is now RVS through the Gloucestershire GEST, a voluntary emergency support group and any other occasion I am called for. I serve on the Tewkesbury Hospital Friends.
I joined Tewkesbury Town Council and apart from the 3 years when the area underwent a boundary reorganisation, I have served the Town through the Town Council which is for more than 20 years.
