Become a Local Councillor #MakeAChange

Tewkesbury Town Council are encouraging all sections of the community to consider standing in the upcoming Local Elections on May 2nd 2019. No experience is necessary, individuals just need to live or work in Tewkesbury and be passionate about this community.

Town Mayor, Councillor Chris Danter, said ‘Becoming a Local Councillor is a great way to get involved with your community and to also help shape the services and projects that the Town Council will deliver. Local Councillors are closest to their communities and are best placed to find out what the real local issues are and how to overcome them.’

Applications to become a Local Councillor are welcomed regardless of race, culture, ability, ethnicity, gender identity and expression, marital status, religious affiliation, sexual orientation and socioeconomic status. Diversity within the council means that it has a greater range of skills, experience and knowledge and that it better reflects the community it serves.
