PART-TIME ADMINISTRATION ASSISTANT
Salary Range NJC 5-6 (£18,795 – £19,171) pro-rata
20 hours per week (fixed term until 31st March 2021)
Tewkesbury Town Council is looking to appoint an outgoing, motivated and innovative part-time Administration Assistant to support the work of our friendly Town Council Office in the heart of Tewkesbury
The hours of work are normally Monday – Thursday 10:00 -15:00. The post holder will be required to provide cover for most school holiday periods.
This is a varied role and duties include but are not limited to: dealing with enquiries, taking bookings and taking payments from members of the public by phone, email or face to face in Reception, maintaining up-to-date council and community information and publications on noticeboards and the website (e.g. minutes, agendas, posters), managing the Mayor’s diary, dealing with enquiries in respect of council owned buildings, moorings and playparks, general administrative duties and assisting with the production of documentation.
You will have excellent communication and keyboard skills and the flexibility to deal with a variety of situations and tasks. Ideally you will be creative and able to use publishing software such as Publisher/Canva or be prepared to train for this. You will need to be able to work under pressure, using your own initiative, but also working as part of a team and be able to deal with changing priorities.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate excellent organisational and administrative skills with good attention to detail as statutory deadlines must be met.
