A417 Missing Link – Notification of Statutory Consultation

A417 S47 Consultee Letter

Notification regarding the consultation on Highways England’s proposed A417 Missing Link, which would improve the connection between two dual carriageway sections of the A417 at Brockworth bypass and the Cowley roundabout. The proposed development would provide a 3.4 mile (5.5km) new dual carriageway, with a grade separated junction at Shab Hill linking the new A417 to the A436 for journeys towards Cheltenham and Oxford, and to the B4070 to Birdlip.

The attached letter is notice of Highways England’s consultation from Tuesday 13 October 2020 to Thursday 12 November 2020.

The attached letter provides further information on the proposed scheme, how to access the consultation documents, and how to submit a formal response to the consultation.

To allow Highways England time to collect and assess all responses to this consultation before finalising our application, please ensure your response reaches us by 11.59pm on Thursday 12 November 2020.

Should you have any queries about this correspondence, the proposed scheme or the consultation, please contact us via or by phoning 0300 123 5000.

The consultation is now live (Tuesday 13 October 2020) and will run until Thursday 12 November 2020.

You can view the consultation materials on our website here; including our consultation booklet and a summary of feedback from the 2019 consultation. Our webchat function where customers can speak to our project team in a private 1:1 conversation will be live from later today, and will run over the next few weeks at dedicated times.

We’re hosting five live question and answer events with our project team, focusing on different topics and specialist areas. At these events, our project team will give a short presentation to camera and then take questions from attendees. You can submit your questions using the chat function, which can be used anonymously.
