Town Hall

The Corn Exchange can be booked for a variety of functions including meetings, indoor markets and coffee mornings.  The room can be set up to suit your requirements, please let us know what you want when you contact us.  The main entrance to the building is from the High Street.  There is an alternative entrance at the rear of the building that can be made available if required.

The Court Room immediately behind the Corn Exchange is also available for hire, and can host meetings, auctions, and displays. Prior to its conversion into a reception area, the Court Room was used for a number of criminal cases that resulted in transportation to Van Diemen’s Land in Australia. The detention cells that served the Court Room still exist in the Town Hall basement.

The Mayor’s Parlour and Council Chamber are located upstairs and can also be booked for meetings and other small events.
